Carmen Pavlovic, the company's chief executive officer, said Thursday "King Kong" is being conceived for the Broadway stage and is authorized by the estate of Merian C. Cooper, creator of the iconic character and director of the 1933 film "King Kong".
The stage show is to be directed by Daniel Kramer and was written by Tony nominee Craig Lucas with new music by BAFTA winner and Grammy nominee Marius de Vries. The production is to feature a cast of more than 40 on-stage actors, singers, dancers and puppeteers.
