Taliban Detain A Dozen Afghan Police

Taliban militants have captured a dozen of Afghan border police in western Afghanistan on Saturday, officials said

The insurgents stormed a police station in Herat’s Kushk-e Kohna district, capturing 12 policemen and holding the their outpost, the top regional police official Gen Ekramuddin Yawar said.
A purported Taliban spokesman, Qari Yousuf Ahmadi, have claimed responsibility for the attack, claiming they have arrested the policemen and seized some weaponries.
A local security official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, described the case in a different way, saying the policemen have surrendered themselves to the Taliban.
Afghan border police have not confirmed the incident.
A border police unit in Herat province has launched an operation in a village in the Kushk-e Kohna district, the place where the Taliban control since yesterday.
Quqnoos
