WASHINGTON -- Online registration is scheduled to open on April 1 for the 2010 Army Ten-Miler at www.armytenmiler.com.
Due to the record pace of the registration for last year's race, hopeful participants are encouraged to register as soon as practical. Last year, spots for the Army Ten-Miler sold out in a record six days and the 2010 race is expected to repeat that trend again this year.
The 26th annual Army Ten-Miler is scheduled for Oct. 24, in Washington, D.C. The field is capped at 30,000 runners. The Army's race is open to both military and civilian runners. Runners must be at least 15 years of age on race day.
Individual entry fees are $55, plus a processing fee. Team creation is $35, plus a processing fee for the name only; each runner must pay the individual entry fee. Youth run for kids in grades K-8 is $10, plus a processing fee. A limited number of upgrade t-shirts are available for $26, plus a processing fee. You can also order an Army Ten-Miler short-sleeve training t-shirt when you register for a special price of only $30.
"Now in its 26th year, the Army Ten-Miler has become one of Washington's most admired and popular running events," says Jim Vankdak, Army Ten-Miler race director. "Even with last year's expansion to 30,000 participants, the race had an all-time record sell out in less than one week.
