The High Council for National Defense (CSAT) approved yesterday (Tues) the purchase of 24 used F16 fighters requested by the Defense Ministry.
The request would be sent to Parliament for debate and a vote, the president’s office said in a statement.
According to it, Defense Minister Gabriel Oprea said MiG-21 Lancers currently used by the Romanian Air Force would be taken out of service in the next few years.
