Ethiopia obtains over 1.2 billion USD from export trade

Addis Ababa, April 29 (WIC) – The Ministry of Trade and Industry said Ethiopia has obtained more than 1.2 billion USD from various items exported during the past nine months.


Ministry Corporate Communications Director, Amakele Yimam, told WIC the revenue was obtained from 677, 316 tons of coffee, meat, livestock, pulses, oilseeds, spices, cut flowers, vegetables and fruits exported to various countries.
  
He said the items were exported to China, Somalia, Netherlands, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Switzerland and other African and European countries. 
  
According to Amakele, the revenue obtained during the reported period has shown a 244 million USD increase from that of same period last budget year.
  
Ethiopia has a plan to obtain more than 2 billion USD from export this budget year, he noted.
