Kyrgyzstan's interim government has brought charges of mass murder against ousted President Kurmanbek Bakiev in absentia, an interim government official told reporters Tuesday.
Bakiev "can also be charged with abuse of power" and may face other charges later, said Azimbek Beknazarov, the deputy head of Kyrgyzstan's interim government, the government news agency KABAR reported.
The interim government adopted a decree Monday charging Bakiev with mass murder and stripping him of immunity from criminal prosecution, Beknazarov said.
