[Updated at 7:51 a.m.] A wave of bombings in Baghdad and Anbar province killed at least 43 people and wounded 96 others Friday, police said.
[Posted at 7:05 a.m.] Bombs killed nine people Friday in Iraq, officials said.
In Anbar province, roadside bombs killed six people and wounded 10 others, officials said.
The six bombs exploded near houses - including those of a police officer and a judge - in a residential area in the town of Khaldiya, about 50 miles (80 kilometers) west of Baghdad.
In Baghdad, a car bomb and a roadside bomb targeted two Shiite mosques, killing three people and wounding 17 others.
The car bomb killed three people outside Hadi al-Chalabi mosque in Hurriya neighborhood in northwestern Baghdad. The blast wounded 14 others. A roadside bomb outside Sadreen mosque in southeastern Baghdad wounded three people.
The blasts happened while people were leaving the mosques after the Friday prayers. Most killed and wounded were worshipers.
Five more people were wounded in southern Baghdad's Dora neighborhood when a bomb exploded in an outdoor market.
