Romanian car Dacia replaces Mercedes as most trusted brand

Romanian car make Dacia has replaced Mercedes as most trusted car brand in Romania, according to the Reader Digest's Trusted Brands survey.

Romanian carmaker Dacia has had the highest number of new registrations in the European Union, in the first quarter, according to data released by the European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA). In the first quarter, it had a 59.1 per cent increase of new registrations, up to 66,013 units, compared to the first quarter last year.

Among foreign brands trusted by Romanians, the surveys places Dell, Nokia, Vodafone, Canon, Paralela 45, BCR, Visa, Asirom, RCS & RDS, Petrom, Eurovita, Nurofen, Algocalmin, Head & Shoulders, Nivea, Ariel, Nestle, at their categories.

When it comes to authorities, Romanians trust the police only in 35 per cent of those polled, and only 22 per cent trust the justice system, compared to 59 and 40 per cent in EU countries.

The survey also revealed that Romanians trust marriage as an institution the most among Europeans, with 79 per cent support, while the European average was 68 per cent.

Romanians trust pilots the most, the survey shows, with 90 per cent of answers favouring flyers, while the firefighters dropped to second place, followed by pharmacists.

The least trusted professions are the policitians (94 per cent), car dealers (78 per cent) and football players (73 per cent).

The Trusted Brands survey was made in 16 European countries and respondents did not receive any possible answers to the questions, but they had to name them.
