Vietnam has promised to invest in the manufacturing sector, specifically targeting agriculture and telecommunication.
The promise was given to the prime Minister, Mr Mizengo Pinda, at the end of his three-day official visit to Vietnam.
On the last day of the visit on Wednesday, Mr Pinda toured a fisheries research institute in Hai Phong, just outside Hanoi.
During the tour the Premier was briefed on fish culture and how fish could be used to boost the life of small entrepreneurs.
Mr Pinda, who was invited by the Vietnamese. Government to undertake the tour, also visited several agricultural and research institutes.
He was assured that Vietnam was ready to invest in Tanzania in the manufacturing of power tillers and telecommunication gadgets.
Heads of agriculture implements factories and telecommunication products told him that they were ready to bring experts to Tanzania to scout for the investment opportunities.
Before visiting Vietnam, Mr Pinda went to Japan where he met various leaders and visited a number of research and agricultural institutions.
Mr Pinda managed to persuade Japan to finance the construction of two important roads in the southern and eastern parts of Tanzania.
The additional road projects were important in government plans to connect all regions with tarmac roads.
Mr Pinda was accompanied by the minister for Agriculture, Food Security and Cooperatives, Mr Stephen Wassira and the deputy minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ambassador Seif Iddi during the trip.
Others were the Mbeya regional commissioner, Mr John Mwakipesile and the permanent secretary in the Zanzibar Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Environment, Dr Khalid Mohammed.
