Angola's only refinery to shut for maintenance

LUANDA (Reuters) - Angola's only refinery will be shut down for maintenance for a little less than 45 days, according to weekly newspaper O Pais on Monday.
The 37,500 barrels per day refinery accounts for 35 percent of Angola's domestic needs. The African nation, which rivals Nigeria as the continent's biggest oil producer, imports the remainder of its refined products from abroad.
O Pais said the planned shut-down began on Monday and was aimed at carrying out a technical review of the equipment. Angola has announced plans to upgrade the refinery in Luanda to bolster capacity.
