Material related to the former East-German security ministry Stasi held by the Finnish Security Police (Supo) may be released for use by researchers already after five years, Supo said Wednesday.
According to Ilkka Salmi, the head of Supo, independent and neutral researchers could then be granted access to the so-called Tiitinen list, allegedly containing names of Finns with Stasi connections, as well as other material related to East Germany's secret police.
The Supreme Administrative Court on Wednesday decided that Supo would not have to hand over a copy of the Tiitinen list to a journalist who asked for it.
