British woman being questioned after police called to hotel room in Costa Brava resort of Lloret de Mar

A British woman is being questioned today after her two children were found dead at a Spanish hotel, police said.
The toddlers were found in a hotel room in the resort of Lloret de Mar, on the Costa Brava, this afternoon. El Mundo said on its website that the children's mother had phoned police but the children could not be saved.
The cause of death was unknown, a police spokeswoman said.
The British embassy in Madrid said: "We are in contact with the Spanish police but because the children are minors we cannot say much. We believe the mother has been arrested. There is an ongoing investigation".
