U.S., Britain issue Mumbai warnings

By the CNN Wire Staff

New Delhi, India (CNN) -- The U.S. Embassy and the British Foreign Office warned their citizens about the possibility of terror attacks in India.
"There are increased indications that terrorists are planning imminent attacks in New Delhi," the U.S. alert said Saturday. "Terrorists have targeted places in the past where U.S. citizens or Westerners are known to congregate or visit".
The British warning had similar wording Saturday.
The alert said markets in India's capital could be a target.
"Markets, such as those located in Chandni Chowk, Connaught Place, Greater Kailash, Karol Bagh, Mehrauli and Sarojini Nagar, can be especially attractive targets for terrorist groups," the U.S. alert said.
Two weeks ago, the embassy issued another alert on the same subject.
