Ahead of a series of high-level meetings with Pakistan, India on Friday handed over its response to the six dossiers it received from its neighbour on April 25 regarding the Mumbai terror attacks.
Government sources said India handed over “additional information” Pakistan had sought to unravel the full conspiracy, including the roles of conspirators like Hafiz Saeed.
The file joint secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs, Yash Sinha, handed over to Pakistan’s deputy high commissioner Riffat Masood also contained details of court procedures in the 26/11 trial. “We hope we have given them comprehensive information regarding the conspiracy hatched on Pakistani soil,” said a source.
Home Minister P Chidambaram will be in Islamabad from June 25 for the Saarc home ministers’ meet, on the sidelines of which he will meet his counterpart Rahman Malik.
Foreign Secretary Nirupama Rao will meet with her counterpart in Islamabad on June 24. She will lay the groundwork for the meeting between External Affairs Minister S M Krishna and Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on July 15.
