Chicago attorney and pro-Palestinian activist Fatima Mohammadi was on the Turkish humanitarian aid ship headed for the Gaza Strip that was stormed by Israeli commandos, leading to the deaths of nine aboard and the wounding of dozens of others.
Mohammadi is believed to be safe, according to her mother, and reports from the scene said no Americans were hurt.
Her mother, Teresa Mohammadi, said this was not the first time her daughter had been to the Middle East.
