NEW YORK, June 28 (UPI) -- Crude oil prices settled on the New York Mercantile Exchange after concern over a storm in the Gulf of Mexico abated.
Crude oil prices had jumped 3.1 percent Friday on the fear the storm could disrupt supplies. After hitting a peak of $79 per barrel, however, fears and prices eased, the price August delivery crude settling at $78 early Monday.
Heating oil prices lost 0.0268 cents from a prior settlement to $2.0854 per gallon. Reformulated gasoline blendstock prices lost 0.0321 cents to $2.1357 per gallon.
Henry Hub natural gas settled fell 0.106 cents $4.755 per million British thermal units.
At the pump, the national average price for unleaded regular gasoline rose to $2.756 per gallon from Sunday's $2.755, AAA said.
