(CNN) -- Israel faced an onslaught of intense international criticism as it continued the release of activists detained after Monday's commando raid on an aid flotilla bound for Gaza in defiance of a blockade.
By Wednesday afternoon, 449 foreign nationals of various nationalities had been deported, according to the Israel Prison Authority.
An Israeli Foreign Ministry spokesman said 380 Turkish nationals were being sent home Wednesday. Greece was sending a plane to transport 38 Greek nationals back to Athens, the Israeli government added.
Separately, buses with 123 activists from the flotilla arrived in Jordan Wednesday. The group included 30 Jordanians and 93 others from 12 countries, including Bahrain, Pakistan, Kuwait, Morocco, Algeria, Oman, Indonesia, Yemen, Malaysia, Mauritania, Azerbaijan, and Syria.
