More than 20 million people have attended the Shanghai World Expo since it opened 58 days ago, the international Expo media center said on Monday.
The 20-millionth guest visited the Expo at midday on Monday. The flow of visitors is high despite cold weather and rain in Shanghai. Organizers say students who go on holidays in July and August will increase the figure.
Expo organizers are presently preparing for the hot summer season, which has been forecast. They are installing fans, umbrellas and tents to protect visitors from the sun.
The 2010 World Expo is being held in Shanghai from May 1 to October 31, 2010. Up to 70 million people are expected to visit the city for the event, which has seen investment of up to $4 billion.
