A Bulgarian court has removed from office the mayor of the Bulgarian village of Sadovo.Marin Yosifov.
Yosifov and two of his consultants, Angela Zapryanova and Emil Darevza, have been charged of trading in influence, due to Yosifov's intervention in a public procurement for building a sewer in a neighboring village.
Yosifov was arrested last week but has been released few days later on a bail of BGN 15 000.
The bail was due to the fact that the arrested did not have any previous criminal convictions and the small size of the stipulated penalty for such crime, which is from 0 to 6 years imprisonment.
The Prosecution's Office has decided that there was no danger that the defendants might hide or commit another crime.
On Thursday, the court decided that there was enough evidence that Yosifov has been attempting to influence the chair of the committee, who had to determine the winner company in the tender for building a sewer in the neighboring village.
Yosifov has denied any accusations.
