GUIGANG CITY, China, July 28 (UPI) -- Five children drowned in southern China when they fell a septic tank filled with 6 feet of rainwater, public security officials in Guigang City say.
The two girls and three boys were playing around a construction site late Tuesday afternoon when they accidentally fell into the unused tank, China's official Xinhua news agency reported.
Guigang City's public security bureau said the tank belonged to a nursing home that was under construction.
It wasn't covered or fenced off, the security bureau said.
The dead children ranged in age from 4-years-old to 11.
