NEW DELHI: Heavy rains lashed many parts of north India including Delhi today bringing relief to people from hot and humid conditions but worsened the flood situation in Punjab and Haryana where more places got submerged with fresh breaches in river embankments and canals.
Delhiites had a respite from heat as showers, which eluded the city during the day, finally arrived towards the evening causing the temperature to drop by a couple of notches.
