Two women were killed in Lower Saxony by falling trees: In Nordhorn a 47-year old woman died when a large poplar came crashing down into a house. She had been on a bike ride with her dog, and had sought refuge from the storm at the house. In Weener (Leer, Lower Saxony) another woman was killed by a falling tree.
