The girlfriend shot and scarred for life by jilted Raoul Moat has revealed she is ‘plagued’ by guilt over the lie she told the killer that led to her new lover’s death.
Samantha Stobbart, who split up with Moat while he was behind bars, had pretended her boyfriend Chris Brown was a policeman in a bid to protect herself.
But, instead, the lie only inflamed the crazed killer’s hatred of the police and led to the shotgun rampage in which karate instructor Mr Brown, 29, paid with his life. Daily Mail
