BROOKS, Ky., July 25 (UPI) -- Kentucky police say they are looking for a convicted sex offender who may be holding a missing Kentucky teenage girl against her will.
Police say they are interested in talking to convicted sex offender Roy Vernon Elwell, 34, against whom Brittney Kustes was to testify next week, but they cannot find him, ABC News reported.
Bullitt County Sheriff's Department detective Scotty McGaha said: "He's a person of interest. We want to talk to him. We haven't been able to find him," ABC News said Saturday.
Brittney Kustes was last seen by a friend July 17 at her grandparents' swimming pool in Brooks, Ky., and her parents reported her missing two days later.
"(The friend) said Vernon drove up and down the street a couple times looking for her, and the next thing he knew she was gone with him," Laurie Kustes said.
