Russian President Dmitry Medvedev expressed his condolences over Thursday's deadly terrorist attack in Pakistan and urged the international community to continue the fight against global terrorism.
At least 42 people were killed when three explosions tore through the Data Darbar shrine in Lahore, Pakistan on Thursday evening.
The Sufi saint's shrine is visited by hundreds of thousands of tourists every year. Some reports said about 2,000 people were inside the shrine at the moment of the blasts.
"Please convey my sincere condolences to the relatives of those killed and wishes for a speedy recovery to the injured," Medvedev said, adding that such inhuman acts could not be justified.
The president also said he hoped the Pakistani authorities would stand firm in their battle against terrorism.
