WASHINGTON (NNS) -- As Tropical Storm Bonnie heads towards the Gulf Coast July 23, the U.S. Navy prompts Sailors, their families and DoN civilians in regions across the United States to re-thinking their personal readiness plans.
Readiness plans are especially important for DoN personnel in coastal regions that may be affected during the Atlantic hurricane season, which started June 1.
Sailors have many resources to consider when developing an emergency plan, and "Operation Prepare" is designed to help DoN personnel get ready for any disaster.
There are three basic components to being prepared: being informed, having a plan and making an emergency kit.
