Russia to hold first on-line funeral for Polish explorer

Russia will hold on Monday its first on-line funeral for a Polish explorer in Novosibirsk who died during his trip on the Trans-Siberian railway, a press secretary for the region's funeral services said.
Alexei Koshlyakov said the on-line funeral and cremation of Stanislaw Kolodeicik would be held on-line because some his relatives from Poland and the United States were not able to make it to Siberia to pay their final respect.
Koshlyakov said Kolodeicik died on July 17 during a train trip to the Far East on the Siberian Express. He did not specify the cause death.
"Several webcams will be set up that will transmit [the funeral] on a special channel to Poland and the United States, where some of Kolodeicik's relatives live," Koshlyakov said.
Kolodeicik was born in Makow Mazowiecki, Poland, in 1945 and had traveled the whole world.
Koshlyakov said a Catholic priest would conduct the funeral in Polish.
