Russian cell phone retailer launches road fines payment service

Russian cell phone retailer Euroset has launched a service whereby motorists across Moscow and the Moscow region can pay off their road fines through the company's stores, Euroset's press service said on Monday.
The company's CEO Alexander Malis took part in the launch in one of 650 Moscow Euroset stores that support the service earlier on Monday, the statement said.
"Now it is easier to pay your fine in Euroset and not give a bribe to a [police] inspector," Malis said.
The service significantly reduces the payment process as it doesn't involve any of the red tape motorists have to waddle through if they opt to pay their fines the regular way - something most of them would rather avoid by greasing the palm of the inspector.
Euroset had already tried the scheme out in the company's stores in Siberia and the Krasnodar region, Euroset's PR Director Ulyana Smolskaya told RIA Novosti.
The service will be available in all Russian cities in the near future, she added.
