Russia’s anti-corruption body approves draft ethics code for officials

A new code of ethics and professional conduct for workers in the Russian state service was approved on Thursday and could come into force in the fall.
The draft code was approved by the presidium of the presidential council on corruption and will oblige officials to provide information about their income, report bribery attempts, and reveal any conflicts of interest.
The officials will be also banned from accepting presents.  Gifts received by officials are to be recognized as federal property.
The document also requires officials to take measures to ensure the security and confidentiality of information.
