School suspends girls for using abusive language on Facebook

Vadodara: A Vadodara-based convent school has suspended six girl students of class X and XII for a week for allegedly using 'abusive' language on the social networking site Facebook.

After learning about the incident, the district education officer has ordered an enquiry into the incident.
However, it was not clear when the students were suspended.
Talking to PTI over the phone today, the Jesus and Mary Convent school authorities said, "We have submitted our report to the district education officer". The school authorities said it was their internal matter and these girls are their students.
It was alleged that the suspended girls were found using abusive language on school's Facebook page while commenting on selection of the school's head girl.
The school's web page announces that principal Sr Delphine has been transferred to another missionary school after holding the post at Jesus and Mary Convent school for many years.
