Teen shot dead for vandalizing car

A 20-year-old Surrey man has been charged with second degree murder after allegedly killing a teenager who vandalized a car he was driving.
The victim, 17-year-old Aden Aliu, was walking along 103 Avenue in Surrey’s Guildford neighbourhood early Wednesday morning with a group of friends.
The group of teens were slashing cars tires and had dented in the doors of a vehicle according to police. The group was then confronted by the suspect two blocks later. The 20-year-old allegedly opened fire, killing Mr. Aliu.
“They were acting like stupid children and as a result of that, unfortunately, one male, who we know [is] involved in the criminal lifestyle had taken upon himself to end that person’s life. That’s a tragedy,” said the RCMP Superintendent Dan Malo of the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team.
Mr. Aliu had moved from Albania several years ago without his parents and was living with an uncle in Surrey, not far from where he was killed, Corporal Dale Carr of the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team said Friday.
