Two policemen killed, 5 wounded in militant attack in Ingushetia

Two policemen were killed and five wounded after a group of unidentified assailants opened fire on a motorized military convoy in Russia's North Caucasus republic of Ingushetia, a local police spokesman said on Monday.
"A motorized convoy of two Ural trucks with policemen from the Interior Ministry was fired upon at about 23:45 Moscow time on Sunday [19:45 GMT] on the Kavkaz federal highway near the village of Yandara," the spokesman said.
He added that a group of investigators are currently working at the scene of the attack.
Sporadic terrorist attacks and militant clashes are common in Russia's largely Muslim North Caucasus republics, especially Dagestan, Chechnya and Ingushetia.
