A Las Vegas woman was killed in a two-car crash Sunday morning in the eastern Las Vegas Valley.
Metro Police responded at 9:44 a.m. to the crash at Stewart Avenue and Page Street, where two vehicles collided in the intersection.
Investigators said a 2001 Chevrolet Malibu was northbound on Page from a stop sign on Stewart while a 2003 Nissan Altima was eastbound on Stewart approaching Page. As the Malibu entered the intersection, the Altima struck its left side, police said.
The driver of the Malibu, identified as Maria Perez-Espinoza, 64, was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead. A passenger, Jose Espinoza, 70, suffered minor injuries, police said.
The two occupants of the Altima, driver Alejandro Gallaga‐Arroyo, 31, of Las Vegas, and a 13-year-old boy suffered minor injuries in the crash.
This is the 36th traffic-related fatality this year in Metro Police jurisdiction. The accident is under investigation by the Metro Accident Investigation Section.
