Motorists in Abu Dhabi will enjoy 12 hours of free parking every day during the holy month of Ramadan within an offer announced by the Department of Transport, the semi-official daily 'Alittihad' said on Monday.
Parking will be free from 4pm to 9pm and from 2am to 9am through the fasting month, the paper said.
“This means drivers will be exempt from parking fees for 12 hours a day including the 'iftar' (evening meal) and 'suhour' (dawn meal) periods,” it said.
The paper quoted a department official as saying 18 paid parking spaces had been completed in the capital and 35 new facilities would be ready by the year end.
Fees are set at Dh2-3 per hour depending on the location. Emirates Business
