8 dead, 90 missing after boat sinks in Indonesia

(CNN) -- Eight people were killed and 90 were missing after a boat sank Monday in Indonesia, according to the country's official Antara news agency.
First Inspector Abdul Rachman, a police official, said the "Hasnita" motor boat sank just minutes before arriving in Lembata, the news agency reported.
It mainly carried farmers and traders who were traveling to sell agricultural products, the news agency said.
Preliminary reports from relatives indicate that at least 100 people were on board the boat when it went down; authorities have so far recovered eight bodies, according to the Antara report.
The boat reportedly capsized after being hit by huge waves. CNN
