LITTLE ROCK, Ark., Aug. 9 (UPI) -- An Arkansas jury Monday convicted a doctor of plotting last year's bomb attack on the chairman of the state's medical board.
Dr. Randeep Mann was also convicted of obstructing justice and possession of an unregistered machine gun and 100 hand grenades that had been found near his home in Pope County.
Prosecutors had contended Mann orchestrated the Feb. 4, 2009 booby-trap bombing that left Dr. Trent Pierce seriously injured. A hand grenade had been rigged to a tire left leaning against Pierce's car, which exploded when Pierce moved it.
Mann had been in trouble with the Arkansas State Medical Board for over-prescribing painkillers. UPI
