At least seven slain by gunman in Slovakia

BRATISLAVA, Slovakia, Aug. 30 (UPI) -- At least seven people were killed and 21 wounded by a man wielding an automatic weapon in Slovakia, authorities said.

The rampage began around 10 a.m. local time Monday on a street in the town of Devinska Nova Ves, Dominka Sulkova of the Medical Rescue Service told the Daily, an English-language newspaper in Bratislava.

Sulkova said at least four women and two men were among the victims.

One of the wounded was a 5-year old boy, and his father may be one of those killed. There also were reports that the killer took his own life. UPI
