LOS ANGELES, Aug. 31 (UPI) -- An Alaska Airlines 737 plane was hit by a bird at 1,000 feet and was forced to return to Los Angeles International Airport, officials said.
Flight 707 to Vancouver, British Columbia, returned to the airport Monday shortly after takeoff, KNBC-TV and KCBS-TV, Los Angeles, reported reported.
Ground officials said the bird strike caused no damage to the fuselage.
It is as yet unknown whether the bird struck the aircraft's engines or windshield, KCBS-TV said. UPI
