Football focus: Deadline day update

(CNN) -- The day is here, the clock is ticking ... the European football transfer window -- the biannual gateway to the most lucrative leagues in the world soccer -- is rapidly closing, leaving little time for clubs and coaches around the world to seal the deals on the new players they want to sign.
In seasons past, deadline day has often seen a flurry of activity and drama, with last-minute agreements being confirmed in the final moments the market remaining open.
Brazil forward Robinho famously moved from Spanish giants Real Madrid to Manchester City for a British record transfer fee in 2008, putting pen-to-paper just hours before the embargo came into effect.
As ever, much of the interest focuses on the twists and turns of the major rumors and gossip throughout the day, so we will let you know all the major sources of speculation as well and confirming deals that have been signed. CNN
