(CNN) -- Flooding and landslides in northeastern China left have more than 100 people dead or missing, the state-run Xinhua news agency reported Sunday, citing provincial officials.
Jilin Province has been experiencing a week of heavy rainfall that has caused 37,000 houses to collapse and damaged an additional 125,000, according to Xinhua.
"The flood is unprecedented," Xinhua quoted Sun Jingyuan, a top official in Antu County as saying. "Its devastation is appalling".
Jilin joins a lengthy list of areas affected by rain and flooding in China this summer. At least 134 million people across 28 provinces have been impacted by the weather.
