The flagship of Russia's Black Sea Fleet, the RFS Moskva guided-missile cruiser, has completed a business visit to Oman's port of Salalah, a fleet spokesman said on Monday.
The Russian warship replenished its water and fuel supplies and continued its passage from Vladivostok to Sevastopol, Capt. 1st Rank Vyacheslav Trukhachev said.
Cruiser commanders Capt. 1st Rank Igor Smolyak and Capt. 1st Rank Sergei Tronev paid a visit to Governor of Dhofar Governorate Sheikh Muhammad bin Marhun al-Maamari at his invitation.
"We have great respect for Russia," al-Maamari said, paying tribute to Russia's contribution to the fight against sea piracy off the Horn of Africa.
He said he hoped the problem would soon be resolved through concerted efforts by Russia and other countries. RIA Novosti
