Rwandans hit the polls in presidential election; Kagame favored to win

Kigali, Rwanda (CNN) -- Voters in Rwanda went to the polls Monday in the country's second presidential election since the 1994 genocide.
Polls opened at 12 a.m. ET and will close at 12 p.m. ET. While results aren't expected until Wednesday, President Paul Kagame is expected to retain power.
People lined up early Monday morning before polls opened. More than 5 million people are registered to vote. Based on early turnout, the total number of voters Monday could come close to that number.
Loud speakers playing songs in neighborhoods and men on microphones were telling people to vote. Virtually all the voters interviewed by one reporter said they are voting for Kagame. CNN
