Saudi seeks court order to stop 'being good'

A rich Saudi man who tried to save a convicted killer from the gallows has told court he no longer wanted to be good and asked the judge to issue a sentence to support his decision, a local newspaper reported on Friday.
The unidentified man had donated SR3 million (Dh2.9 million) in blood money for the family of the victim to forgive the killer, who was in jail waiting to be executed, Almadina Arabic language daily said.
News of the donation triggered bloody riots inside the prison after the inmates attacked the convict, thinking he was a rich man.
“The convict died in the riots and his family blamed the man who donated the money for his death,” the paper said. Emirates Business
