Arnold Schwarzenegger, governor of the U.S. state of California, has said he will travel to Russia to work with the country on developing its high-tech industry.
AP said the star of films such as Terminator made the announcement during a business round table discussion in Santa Clara on Friday. He noted that California should form business partnerships with Russia's high-tech industry.
Schwarzenegger is set to visit Russia after his September 9-15 trip to China, Japan and South Korea.
A spokesman was reported as saying no firm date had yet been set for the trip, but that Schwarzenegger had discussed it with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev during his recent visit to California.
Medvedev has made developing the high-tech sector and encouraging innovative research the focal point of his economic agenda. RIA Novosti
