Son drags father to court over dismissal

A man has agreed to settle a labour dispute with his son - who claimed before a judge that his father fired him because he married a second time.
The Pakistani, who worked for his father, lodged a labour lawsuit before the Dubai Labour Court claiming Dh120,000 as end-of-service benefits, dues and unpaid salary, reported Gulf News.
The son claimed his father dismissed him arbitrarily and he demanded Dh120,000 in compensation plus a return air ticket worth Dh1,500.
The case was referred to a reconciliation judge. The son told the judge he started working for his father at the age of 18.
Sources said the son said his father made him marry his cousin although he did not love her.
The claimant told the judge that he was in love with a non-Muslim Indian girl. He said he did his best to convince his father to approve his marriage, but he did not allow it. He married the girl without his father's consent after she converted to Islam, he added. Emirates Business
