Three charged for V.K. Lingam's brother's murder

PETALING JAYA: Three men were charged with the murder of V. Rajendram, the youngest brother of prominent lawyer Datuk V.K. Lingam, at the magistrate's court this morning.
V.Thayalan, 30, of Taman Puchong Indah, D.Saravanan Kumar and M.Devadason, both 29, from Pusat Bandar Puchong, were charged with the murder of Rajendram between Aug 2 and Aug 3 at 9.30pm to 12.05pm at Audiyar Muniswar Temple near Jalan Puteri, Bandar Baru Puchong.
Siti Fatimah Yahya appeared for the prosecution while P.Sutheswary defended the trio. S. Thisinayagam was watching brief for the family of the victim.
Magistrate Mohamad Ibrahim Mohammad Gulam fixed Sept 23 for mention.
Before proceedings began, a group of people had converged in anticipation of the trio's appearance. At least two spectators took video recordings using their handphones of the defendants as they waited in the dock. One spectator had her handphone seized by policemen.
It was reported on Monday that Rajendram's family members, including Lingam, had offered a RM50,000 reward to anyone with information concerning the murder. The Malay Mail
