SANTIAGO, Chile, Aug. 30 (UPI) -- One of the 33 men trapped in a Chilean mine says he has a church wedding to look forward to when he gets out.
Through the small portal the miners have to the world, Esteban Rojas sent a note proposing, again, to his wife of 25 years, Jessica Ganiez, NBC's Todayshow.com reported.
The miners have been trapped underground since early August.
"When I get out, let's buy the dress and we'll get married," he wrote Ganiez on scrap paper.
Rojas and Ganiez have been together for 25 years, raised three children and are now grandparents twice over. They were married in a civil ceremony years ago, but never had a church wedding.
Apparently being trapped in a hot, sweaty mine shaft helped Rojas overcome his reluctance. "I have tried to hint at it many times, but it never happened," Ganiez told London's Daily Mirror. UPI
