PUERTO ESCONDIDO, Mexico, Aug. 23 (UPI) -- Tropical Storm Frank moved along Mexico's Pacific coast, Tropical Storm Danielle churned in the Atlantic and forecasters said both may become hurricanes.
Frank was about 105 miles south-southwest of the Pacific Ocean community of Puerto Escondido, Mexico, carrying sustained winds of about 60 mph, the National Hurricane Center in Miami said in its 5 a.m. advisory. Frank was moving westerly at about 4 mph.
The center said Frank was expected to intensify and could reach hurricane strength by late Monday.
The storm was expected to tack west-northwest, running parallel to the coastline in southern Mexico through Tuesday.
Tropical storm watches and warnings were in effect along the Mexican coast. UPI
