The UAE is ranked 43 in the overall index in Newsweek magazines first-ever Best Countries special issue, out this week in the country.
Newsweek says that it set out to answer a “simple and incredibly complex - if you were born today, which country would provide you the very best opportunity to live a healthy, safe, reasonably prosperous, and upwardly mobile life?”
For this special survey, Newsweek chose five categories of national well-being - education, health, quality of life, economic competitiveness, and political environment - and compiled metrics within these categories across 100 nations.
A weighted formula yielded an overall list of the world’s top 100 countries.
Kuwait, however, ranks higher than UAE on the list coming in at number 40. Oman comes in at 60, Saudi Arabia at 64 and Egypt at 74. Emirates Business
