The organizers of a rock festival in Russia's Urals that was attacked by skinheads on Sunday say there were enough security and police but they were unprepared for such an attack.
Some 30 people were injured when a group of about 150 men armed with clubs and rubber bullet guns attacked a rock festival in the city of Miass on Sunday, festival organizer Valikhan Turgumbayev said on Monday.
They attacked security guards and police, who were unarmed, as well as spectators.
"There was enough security and there were enough police. Their task was to ensure order and they were not prepared for an armed attack," Turgumbayev said.
"Initially there were 70 security guards and police, as well as 20 [security] volunteers at the festival".
The situation was brought under control within 15 minutes when police reinforcements arrived he said, adding that the attack had been a well planned action, prepared by "professionals".
Turgumbayev said he was unaware of what could have caused the attack.
"In all, about 30 people were injured... 10 were taken to hospital. At the moment two people remain in hospital," Turgumbayev said.
A local police department spokesman denied reports that a 14-year-old girl died of stab wounds.
